Women LEAD

Address:

Nepal

Description:

Women LEAD is an organization that works with young women in Nepal. They provide these women with opportunities and skills they need to become leaders all over the world. They are youth-driven, youth-led, and gender inclusive and they are locally accountable and sustainable. Their programs provide young women with intensive leadership training, skills-building opportunities, mentoring and a peer-support network, and university preparation. LEADers are trained directly by Women LEAD, and then they take what they learned and go back into their communities to help other boys and girls. Since 2013, they have directly trained over 400 women and have impacted over 1,500 youth in Nepal.

Mission Statement: Their mission is to provide young women in Nepal with the skills, support and opportunities to become leaders and change-makers in their schools, communities, nation and world.

Our Connection:

Seed Grant. The Skees Family Foundation began working with Women LEAD in 2016. We were excited to see an organization rooted both in education and job skills training, with a focus on young women, in Nepal. We fully support their work and look forward to seeing what is to come.
