BESO Foundation provides access to quality education, health services, and economic empowerment for women and children through agriculture in rural Uganda. In eight years, the organization has gone from serving 100 students to 660 students; from a quarter acre piece of land to several acres; from three teachers to over a dozen teachers; and from a temporary shelter to 12+ permanent classrooms. They have impacted more than 2,000 children through their teacher training and capacity building initiative in more than 30 schools. The organization helps to establish cooperatives and savings accounts, which support employment and economic development.
Mission Statement: The mission of BESO is to improve the lives of children and women in rural Uganda through access to quality education, health services and economic empowerment.
The Skees Family Foundation began working with BESO in 2016. Their mission fits perfectly with ours, and we were very excited by how much they have scaled. We look forward to seeing what they will be able to accomplish in the years to come.
