Anseye Pou Ayiti (Teach for Haiti)

Address:

Haiti

Description:

Anseye Pou Ayiti (Teach for Haiti) works to improve the education system in Haiti not through the students, but through the teachers. They train and empower teachers in disadvantaged areas in order to provide a better education for the children. They have four core program components: recruitment, placement, sustained training, and leadership support. They recruit local Haitian teachers who have either graduated from university or are current teachers who desire to participate in the two-year training program. They now have 65 partner schools across Haiti and their 215 teachers have served over 7,000 students.

Mission Statement: Anseye Pou Ayiti will raise education outcomes in disadvantaged areas of Haiti by recruiting and training outstanding teachers for existing schools. Transformational teaching and leadership will equip all children with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to achieve their full potential with equal opportunity, pursue lives of mutual prosperity, and contribute to a more enlightened 21st century world.

Our Connection:

Catalyst Grant. Partnership Grant. Skees Family Foundation began working with Teach for Haiti at the very start of their program in 2015 through a Seed Grant. We admire their ideas to improve the education system throughout the country in order to provide a strong, stable primary education from which the children can grow. They also go right along with our mission of jobs creation by training local teachers! We look forward to being a part of their success.
