Preserve International

Address:

Uganda

Description:

Preserve International works to solve the problem of seasonal hunger through training on food preservation techniques. They highlight food dehydration, canning, and improved grain storage. They empower women in Yumbe, Uganda by tailoring curriculum for best agronomic practices and post harvest handling to the unique needs of women living in both the BidiBidi Refugee Settlement and the surrounding host communities.

Mission Statement: Preserve International exists to fight hunger and minimize the burden of seasonal poverty in East Africa through the provision of innovative, rurally-minded food preservation technology and training to reduce post harvest crop loss.

Our Connection:

Seed Grant. In 2021, the Skees Family Foundation began working with Preserve International. We believe their models will do an excellent job of helping eliminate seasonal poverty in Uganda and they’re creating jobs, too! We look forward to seeing their success.
