Charlotte Secondary School

North Carolina,
United States

The Charlotte Secondary School community is an academically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse mix of middle and high school students. This atmosphere provides their students with a variety of experiential learning opportunities. As specified in their charter, they actively recruit students who thrive in a smaller school environment, as well as those who are traditionally under-represented in high school college preparatory programs.

Primarily a college and career preparatory school, they gather students from all educational backgrounds and provide them with avenues of enrichment and study that cater to their individual needs. Ultimately their charge is to guide all students in the discovery of their own particular genius, a crucial step in a distinctive life-path.

Mission Statement: They are a diverse middle and high school community that focuses on college and career preparation and individually tailored learning opportunities to empower all students to reach their full potential.

Our Connection:

Family Discretionary Grant. Some of the third generation of the Skees Family Foundation attended Charlotte Secondary School and they wanted to contribute to the betterment of the students’ education.
