Center for Community Transformation via endPoverty.org
The Center for Community Transformation (CCT) is a Christian organization fighting poverty and injustice throughout the Philippines. In order to promote economic and social development in the poorest rural areas of the country, they offer a combination of well-rounded services with the aim of establishing this change through empowerment. They have developed Spiritual Development, Microfinance,Education, Health, Social Security, and Community Mobilization and Empowerment programs in order to accomplish their goals.
Mission Statement: As followers of Jesus Christ, the CCT joins the Holy Spirit in God’s work of transforming lives and communities.
endPoverty.org is another faith-based organization who works with local partners (e.g. CCT) to provide microfinance services to life individuals and families out of poverty through empowerment. They provide small loans and training for businesses started by impoverished but dedicated men and women. This allows them to create their own economic independence and self-sufficiency.
Mission Statement: endPoverty.org provides hard-working men and women with economic and spiritual resources that unleash their capacities and liberate them from the entanglements of poverty.
Family Discretionary Grant. In 2013, endPoverty.org partnered with the Center for Community Transformation to provide disaster relief in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan hit. They were working directly with the students the Skees Family Foundation supports through Vittana, so we decided to help this initiative by giving a grant directed toward rebuilding schools and communities where these students reside.
