Bean Voyage ensures sustainable livelihood for female coffee producers by training and connecting them with the end consumers. They invest in economic growth, environmental protection, and gender justice for smallholder women in coffee communities so that they can lead their communities towards sustainable development. They form regional collectives of female coffee producers and train them to process, roast and cup their own coffee. Then, they connect them to markets around the world. In 2018, they had their first graduation of 18 coffee producers and they have only grown since!
Mission Statement: Bean Voyage aims to provide training and market access to smallholder women so they can produce specialty coffee, earn a better income, and lead sustainable lives.
Seed Grant. The Skees Family Foundation began working with Bean Voyage in 2019. We love their hands on, thorough, sustainable approach to empowering women in coffee-centered communities. We think they have been doing a great job the past couple years and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish!
