Asante Africa Foundation

Asante Africa Foundation works to provide access to education to underprivileged children living in extreme rural poverty within Kenya and Tanzania. Their programs provide sustainable solutions that help disadvantaged children gain a solid education. They target the root causes of why children do not attend school and why they don’t succeed if they are able to attend. Asante Africa works on a local level to develop strategies to achieve their mission. They have a four-pronged approach to guide them toward success. They create safe and healthy learning environments, enhance teaching quality and learning opportunities, provide merit-based scholarships, and leverage partnerships and local expertise. So far, they’ve supported over 300,000 students, trained over 3,200 teachers, and impacted over 500,000 people within the East African region.

Mission Statement: Asante Africa Foundation believes in the power of knowledge as a catalyst to help young people create a future where they can live their potential. They know that enriched minds collectively create better solutions to whatever challenges their communities face.

 

Family Discretionary Grant. In 2014, the Skees Family began their support of the Asante Africa Foundation through a family grant by one of our core families in California. We agree with their mission to not only promote education attainment, but to use a comprehensive approach to improving the quality of education that is provided and to look for solutions to the lack of attendance within the schools.
